At the invitation of the National Election Commission of the Republic of Korea, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Armenia Vahagn Hovakimyan and Head of the External Relations Department of the CEC Hermine Harutyunyan took part in the International Election Observation Program (IEOP) for the elections to the National Assembly of Korea on April 4- 12 in Seoul. 58 representatives of election authorities from 27 countries took part in the international Program.
According to the press service of the Central Election Commission of Armenia, the delegation led by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission also took part in the Seoul International Electoral Forum, organized as part of the Program. The forum discussed a number of election-related issues, such as the causes and solutions to political polarization and the use of artificial intelligence in electoral processes. During the visit, Hovakimyan held a bilateral meeting with the Chairperson of the National Election Commission of the Republic of Korea, Rho Tae-ak. The interlocutors discussed ways of further cooperation between partner structures and the possibility of implementing joint programs.
