ArmInfo. Yerevan and Astana became sister cities. The corresponding agreement was signed by the mayors of the Armenian and Kazakh capitals - Tigran Avinyan and Zhenis Kassymbek.
According to the press service of the mayor's office, in accordance with the agreement, the parties committed to develop cooperation in the areas of local self-government, management of urban services, culture, sports, education and tourism, environmental protection, social security and healthcare, public transport and traffic management, between business circles, etc.
The signing ceremony of the document took place at the residence of the President of Armenia after a meeting between Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
