ArmInfo. Already in January 2025 Armenia will switch to a unified ambulance service. Minister of Health of Armenia Anahit Avanesyan stated in the National Assembly on April 11.
In particular, she said that such a need arose since very often an ambulance located in physical proximity cannot service a call, since it belongs to another medical center, or another region, and accordingly, this call is not included in the field of its service. "We are changing the entire principle of service. And now calls will be accepted based on the principle of physical proximity of the car," Avanesyan noted.
She said that a unified ambulance service has already been established for the Shirak region, followed by the Aragatsotn region, etc.
In addition, as the head of the Ministry of Health noted, complex cartographic work was carried out on the geographical location of the population, roads, main outbreaks, seasonality of diseases, etc., which will allow assessing the real demand.
According to the minister, it is planned to distribute calls between the ambulance service and primary healthcare to simplify and speed up service. The latter will take on the challenges of managing chronic diseases, normalizing blood pressure, etc. For these purposes, Avanesyan noted that the primary level will be provided with appropriate transport.
