ArmInfo.Negotiations between Yerevan and Baku continue, but this does not mean that concessions on the issue of Armenian territories are being discussed. Speaker of the Parliament Alen Simonyan stated on April 9 in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
According to him not signing any document with Azerbaijan is not ruled out if the parties do not come to an agreement. We are talking, first of all, about agreement on the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders. The speaker did not rule out the possibility of a complete refusal to sign anything if there is no agreement. He noted that the former authorities, whose representatives today act as opposition in the National Assembly, did not deny that the villages discussed today in the Tavush and Ararat regions belong to Azerbaijan.
In particular, as Simonyan emphasized, in 2009, in accordance with the law on administrative-territorial division, the village of Tigranashen was included in the administrative territory of the village of Paruyr Sevak, and Askipara and Barkhudarlu were included in Voskepar and Azatamut. "But the law specifically stipulated that this decision is valid until Armenian-Azerbaijani relations are settled," the speaker noted.
