ArmInfo. Former Artsakh Ombudsman Artak Beglaryan called on the Armenian government to act exclusively within the law.
In particular, he said that the activists of the Initiative to Meet the Needs of the Residents of Artsakh continue to be directly or indirectly put under various kinds of pressure, both in the form of conversations and certain actions. Beglaryan refused to name specific names, only noting that these were representatives of the government of the Republic of Armenia.
"And this shows that they have various reasons for concern. But we stated that we would work exclusively within the law, exercising our rights - legal and individual. Therefore, I urge the relevant government bodies to be restrained and act within the framework of the RA law," he emphasized. In turn, Sona Ambartsumyan, a representative of the Initiative to Meet the Needs of Artsakh Residents, said that in March, after a rally on Freedom Square in support of Artsakh, a petition was drawn up, which contained proposals to the Armenian government, including those related to the housing issue.
Referring to the RA law on petitions, the activist noted that no later than 5 working days the latter should have been published or returned. "But, to my regret, the petition remained unanswered," she said.
Then the members of the Initiative, according to Sonna Ambartsumyan, approached all 3 factions of the National Assembly with a proposal to organize parliamentary discussions regarding this issue, but to this day no official response has been received from the political forces.
