ArmInfo.The Anti-Corruption Court accepted the claims of the Prosecutor General's Office for the confiscation of property of illegal origin from the former head of the Licensing Department of the Ministry of Economy Armen Nalbandyan, as well as from Executive Director at Hayastan All Armenian Fund Ara Vardanyan and related persons.
In particular, according to the press service of the supervisory authority, the Department for Illegal Confiscation of Property of the Prosecutor General's Office demands the confiscation of 3 real estate properties from the former official of the Ministry of Economy; 1 vehicle; 270 thousand drams as the balance of illegal funds; 103,755 Armenian drams, which is not confirmed by the legal income of the person, is of illegal origin and cannot be confiscated, since it was transferred to a bona fide purchaser in 2006-2023 or cannot be identified.
The department petitioned for the confiscation of property of illegal origin from former Executive Director at the Hayastan All Armenian Fund Ara Vardanyan and a person associated with him for more than 1.2 billion drams. In particular - of 3 real estate properties; 1 vehicle; the current average market price of an apartment in the center of Yerevan in full; 933 million 144 thousand drams that are not justified by the legal income of the person, are of illegal origin, were transferred to a bona fide purchaser or cannot be identified and confiscated; 208 million 214 thousand drams as the balance of income received from the use of property of illegal origin.
Notably, Ara Vardanyan served as Executive Director of the Fund from May 18, 2009 to July 20, 2018. He is accused of theft of large sums of money, aiding and abetting theft, abuse of official position and forgery.
