ArmInfo. In an interview with Izvestia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that he last contacted his Armenian counterpart in November 2023.

So, when asked to evaluate media forecasts about the intention of the  collective West to isolate Russia within its own borders, by cutting  off the entire post-Soviet space, and to clarify whether it can be  said that Armenia has already been lost, Lavrov noted that he does  not undertake to make predictions about Yerevan's further actions.

"I will not make such predictions. We honestly presented all our  assessments to the Armenian leadership.  They know very well that we  remain faithful to our obligations, that we are ready to continue to  contribute to the normalization of their relations with Azerbaijan  and bring this process to full completion. They know that against the  background Our sincere interest in stabilizing the situation and  restoring relations between Yerevan and Baku, the European Union and  NATO are taking steps to complicate this process," the Russian  minister noted.

Lavrov recalled that the Azerbaijani leadership recently protested  against some actions and statements, including those related to the  expansion of the functions and composition of the EU mission in  Armenia.  And in this vein, he added that all decisions still remain  with the Armenian side.

"We never abandon our agreements. But recently they have not reached  out to us. I spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia  Ararat Mirzoyan for the last time in November 2023 at the OSCE  ministerial meeting in the Macedonian capital Skopje. We proposed the  meeting. They did not talk about it they asked, but I once again  confirmed to my colleague Mirzoyan everything that we are talking  about now. They know our position. Our ambassador Sergei Kopyrkin  regularly reminds us of this position," Lavrov noted.

At the same time, Russia's chief diplomat noted that isolating the  Russian Federation within its own borders is considered a "generous"  scenario. "There are many scenarios for the decolonization of  Russia," the minister concluded.
