ArmInfo.The Government of Armenia has allocated 1.393 billion drams from the state budget for the proper organization of anniversary events as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of 2 outstanding world-famous artists - director, screenwriter, artist, collagist Sergei Parajanov and singer, composer, poet, actor and writer Charles Aznavour.
This was reported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, referring to the government decision.
According to the source, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Charles Aznavour and Sergei Parajanov are included in the calendar of UNESCO anniversary events in 2024-2025. Applications for the inclusion of prominent people in the calendar were submitted by the Republic of Armenia together with partner countries, receiving significant support from a number of member states and a group of countries.
In particular, the application for the 100th anniversary of the great French-Armenian singer, chansonnier and actor Charles Aznavour was submitted jointly by Armenia and France with the support of Andorra, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Portugal, Senegal and a group of French-speaking UNESCO ambassadors, numbering more than 80 members. An application for holding events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of film director Sergei Parajanov was submitted jointly by Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine with the support of Cyprus, France, Italy, Lebanon and Poland.
