ArmInfo.As part of his official visit to Argentina, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met with heads of the foreign relations committees of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Republic.
As the press service of the RA MFA reports, during the meeting the interlocutors both pointed out the constant development of Armenian-Argentine relations under mutual trust and mutual understanding. Mirzoyan added that Armenia considers Argentina as a reliable partner in South America and is interested in further developing and deepening multi-sectoral relations with Argentina in political, economic, cultural and other areas.
According to him, Armenia values not only the bilateral political dialogue with Argentina, but also the country's constructive position on key issues for Armenia. In this regard, the Armenian minister emphasized that support by international actors for the well-known principles of international law is important to curb maximalist aspirations and ensure stability in the South Caucasus. Mirzoyan presented to the Argentine parliamentarians the efforts of Armenia aimed at establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus. In this vein, he confirmed Yerevan's position on a real possibility of establishing peace in the region and this can be realized by Armenia and Azerbaijan by respecting the basic principles of territorial integrity, indivisibility of borders and opening regional communications. In this context, the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project to the interlocutors.
