ArmInfo.The case against a citizen offering an election bribe in favor of the "I Have Honor" bloc of parties, with the indictment of the prosecutor, was transferred to the Anti- Corruption Court.
According to the press service of the supervisory authority, a citizen who was offered a bribe in the 2021 parliamentary elections to ensure the maximum number of votes in favor of the "I Have Honor" bloc of parties was detained on March 5, 2024.
Based on the criminal case files examined by the Anti-Corruption Committee, it was established that on June 19, this citizen of one of the settlements of the Ararat region offered 30,000 drams as an election bribe to a resident of the same settlement for each vote in favor of "I Have the Honor". The offer was rejected. A similar proposal was voiced to two daughters of a resident of Ararat. One of them agreed, receiving 30 thousand drams.
On June 30, 2021, a decision was made to bring the initiator to justice under Article 154.2, part 4, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, adopted on April 18, 2003 (giving an election bribe to two or more persons). In relation to the person who received the bribe, criminal prosecution was terminated on the basis of active repentance.
