ArmInfo.The Armenian authorities went to arrest members of the "Combat Brotherhood" - a step that is extremely difficult to explain, much less justify, in a civil democratic society.  It is difficult to imagine a more inadequate step, Director of the Ashkhar Center for Strategic Studies, Hrachya Arzumanyan wrote on his Facebook account. 

The second completely unacceptable point, Arzumanyan believes, is  that members of the organization were arrested for their activity  around the village of Voskepar and the so-called enclaves. The same  problem for which the villagers and the overwhelming majority of  Armenian society sent the Prime Minister very far away.

"Members of the organization were arrested by the Armenian  authorities for their intention to protect the state sovereignty and  territorial integrity of Armenia. For the intention to help villagers  prepare for self- defense of their villages. The Armenian authorities  are already accused of arresting the "Combat Brotherhood" on the  orders of the President of Azerbaijan. Well, how can you comment on  this," he emphasized.

For the third year now, military sports organizations have been  trying to determine their status in the legislation of Armenia,  taking into account the special nature of the organizations'  activities. There has been no real progress yet, although the draft  law was developed more than a year ago.

Yesterday and today, Armenian law enforcement officers detained 49  members of the military-sports organization "Combat Brotherhood", who  oppose the transfer of border villages in the Tavush region to  Azerbaijan. The day before, police detained 23 members of the  organization who came to the village of Voskepar to support local  residents opposing the transfer of territories. According to law  enforcement officers, the detainees are suspected of illegally  carrying and storing weapons. Today, for the same reason, the number  of detainees has increased to 49 people.

Earlier, Baku announced the immediate "return of 4 villages" located  on the border of the Tavush region of Armenia and the Gazakh region  of Azerbaijan. The statement followed a meeting of the border  delimitation commissions, headed by the deputy prime ministers of the  two countries, Mher Grigoryan and Shahin Mustafayev. "As for the four  non-exclave Azerbaijani villages (Baganis Ayrim, Ashagi Eskipara,  Kheyrimli and Gyzylgajili) occupied by Armenia, their belonging to  Azerbaijan is indisputable, and they are subject to immediate  release," the statement said.

On March 19, Nikol Pashinyan, at a meeting with residents of the  Tavush region, said that in order to avoid war, border demarcation  and compromise are necessary, which he sees in the transfer of  villages to Azerbaijan.
