ArmInfo. There seems to be some evidence that the options proposed by Russia for normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations are unacceptable. British Ambassador to Armenia John Gallagher stated on March 20, speaking at an international political science conference organized by the Caucasus Institute during a discussion on the topic "South Caucasus: trends and prospects in the context of the Ukrainian war," commenting on the negotiations between Yerevan and Baku.
The diplomat noted that as long as there is an opportunity to build a peace process, it is necessary to take advantage of it and promote contacts between the parties to achieve long-term peace.
"It is necessary to promote dialogue between the parties and achieve a lasting settlement. There may be questions about which platform is more effective, but this should be decided by the parties. There was quite active participation from the West, including from the United States," the Ambassador added. "There seems to be some evidence that Russia's proposed options for normalizing relations are unacceptable. But there is a peace process. The UK is ready to assist both sides so that they constructively find solutions acceptable to both sides," the British diplomat concluded.
