ArmInfo. Armenia sees Azerbaijan's step back from a number of previously reached agreements. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan announced on March 15 during a hearing in the RA National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relation, at which the implementation in 2023 of the RA government program for 2021-2023 was discussed.
According to him, initially Yerevan and Baku agreed on mutual recognition of the borders of the two states in accordance with the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991. "It was extremely important for us to transfer this agreement "to the ground." In other words, everything that is beyond these borders is not ours. There is nothing secret, much less treacherous in this position," said the head of the RA Foreign Ministry, adding at the same time that this position is the vision of Armenia, which was adopted by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in October 2022 in Prague, reaffirming this position at negotiations in Sochi and Brussels. However, as the minister noted with regret, Azerbaijan has recently started backing away from a number of agreements reached earlier. "But I must note that, as of today, mutual understanding between the parties on the issue of mutual recognition of the territorial integrity of states is much higher than a month ago," the minister emphasized.
