ArmInfo. In a global sense, one should not expect results from the negotiations that took place. A similar opinion was expressed during a briefing on March 1 by chairman of the "Armenia" opposition bloc, former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan, commenting on the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations initiated by Germany.
He noted that Armenia has friendly countries on the western side, but none of them have much capacity to assist, with the exception of a fragmented observation mission.
Ohanyan recalled that the Azerbaijani authorities constantly insist that they do not need intermediaries. According to the oppositionist, this indicates their intention to independently put pressure on the government of our country. "They very wisely and cunningly use both Western and post-Soviet platforms in order to promote their interests," he emphasized.
At the same time, the head of the bloc noted that in any case, negotiations are more acceptable than military operations. In this context, he recalled the sad experience when the negotiation process in 2018 failed, and this was followed by the war of 2020. "In this sense, any contacts between the parties are extremely important," he emphasized.
