ArmInfo.Democracy is one of the directions for strengthening the security of Armenia. Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan told reporters on February 29.
According to him, today the world is divided into two parts: on the one hand, we are talking about the world order and rules, which can, for example, include the Alma-Ata Declaration, and on the other hand, when it comes to the right of force. "We believe that our security is a commitment to democratic values and close cooperation with democratic institutions and systems. We cannot afford the right to force, if only because, as the people say, we are not 'physically' stronger than Turkey or Azerbaijan. We cannot provide adequate resistance, especially since our ally, at best, does not protect us," said the Speaker of the National Assembly, expressing confidence that our ally and Azerbaijan are acting jointly in these processess. "I am sure that the war in Ukraine began with the war in Nagorno-Karabakh in order to obtain alternative ways to evade sanctions, which, in fact, is what is being done now. For example, when Azerbaijan sells Russian gas to Europe through its pipelines, and this is a fact," the speaker noted.
