ArmInfo. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov says that a meeting with the Armenian side for negotiations on a peace treaty is planned in the coming days. It should be noted that following the meetings of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Munich, an agreement was reached to hold a meeting between Yerevan and Baku at the level of foreign ministers. He recalled that there was a break in negotiations on a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku, but work on the text continued.
"Within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, a meeting was held between the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia, after which a decision was made to resume the process. In the coming days, it is planned to hold negotiations with the Armenian delegation on a peace treaty," Bayramov told Azerbaijani journalists.
The diplomat also did not miss the opportunity to accuse France and the EU of destabilizing the situation in the region.
According to him, the actions of the EU mission created tension at the border. "The activation of France during the positive steps taken serves to aggravate the issue. After the meeting initiated by Scholz, the importance of developing the peace process was mentioned and agreed upon. But immediately after this the statement of the French President came, then the visit of the French Minister of Defense to Armenia and his inflammatory statements are an example of this, " he said.
However, Bayramov did not go into detail about what provoked Azerbaijan to violate the ceasefire on the border with Armenia, for example, in the same Verin Shorzha on February 24. The Azerbaijani diplomat also did not explain if Azerbaijan so desires peace, then why it continues to actively arm itself.
