ArmInfo. Representatives of the youth and student organization of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) held a protest rally near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia on February 20.
They came to the Foreign Ministry building with photographs of former and current military-political leaders of Artsakh, who have been held in Azerbaijani captivity for six months now. The demonstrators accused the Armenian foreign ministry of inaction.
According to the head of the youth wing of the RPA, Henrikh Danielyan, it was the failed policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials that led to the de-Armenization of Artsakh, for the first time in the history of its centuries-old existence.
The RPA representative accused the Armenian Foreign Ministry of the fact that official Yerevan is not taking any steps to return to their homeland the military-political leadership of Artsakh, who are in Baku prisons due to their failed policies.
The exact number of Armenian prisoners of war and hostages held in Azerbaijani prisons is still not known. Among those held in Azerbaijani captivity are 8 former and current representatives of the military-political leadership of Artsakh. These are former Presidents of Artsakh Arkady Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs David Babayan, as well as Speaker of Parliament David Ishkhanyan, former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, General Levon Mnatsakanyan, General David Manukyan and former Minister of State Ruben Vardanyan.
