ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities are going to implement a program to provide housing for forcibly displaced citizens from Artsakh, but one of the conditions for participation in the program must be obtaining Armenian citizenship, Armenian Premier Nikol Pashinyan stated at a meeting with Armenians in Munich.
Pashinyan recalled that the forcibly displaced Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh are today in Armenia under temporary protection, which essentially constitutes refugee status.
"Our vision is that if they do not have a realistic desire or opportunity to return to Nagorno-Karabakh... More precisely, there will be a desire, but if their perception of the security conditions for return is not positive, then our policy is to they remained in Armenia," he noted.
The Armenian prime minister said that the issue of educating Artsakh children in schools has been largely resolved. Thus, as of December 31, 2023, 10 thousand people have already found work in Armenia. "This is good, but not enough, because this is only about 30% of people of working age. All pensioners receive pensions," Pashinyan said.
As of January 26 this year. Temporary protection certificates issued to both adult and minor internally displaced persons from Artsakh were received by 42,809 Artsakh residents.
