ArmInfo. The peace agreement, if signed, will be a double capitulation. Third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, stated on February 16 in a conversation with journalists.
Thus, when asked to assess what happened in Nerkih Hand, when four Armenian servicemen were killed as a result of enemy fire, the third President of Armenia expressed more conviction that this was an illogical continuation of those actions that the Armenian people had previously witnessed.
"And if you remember, weeks earlier, right here in a conversation with you, I already said that this peace agreement, if signed, would become a double capitulation. As we see, the Azerbaijani discourse is replenished with new terminology, which is already expressed in the form of commands and instructions.
I do not rule out that the incidents in Nerkin Hand will be repeated, perhaps in other areas. Yesterday we heard a small notification of this at a government meeting," Sargsyan noted, expressing his conviction that as a result of this pressure something will simply be given up again.
According to him, this will continue until the journalists gathered here, the political forces of Armenia and first of all the Armenian people, at least the part that is not indifferent to the fate of their homeland, send this "power home".
Regarding the demands of the President of Azerbaijan regarding the Constitution of Armenia, the politician noted that the Azerbaijani leader does not hint at changing the main law of Armenia. According to him, Aliyev has already spoken publicly several times, and for the first time 2 years ago, he spoke, or rather, demanded a change in the main law of our country. "I don't think that the delay of time by today's rulers of Armenia is anything other than an attempt to prolong their stay in power.
If these authorities could not even equip the front line in 3.5 years, then what will that 'time' give them? Maybe a miracle will happen and Azerbaijan will give up its demands? But this is impossible. I repeat, capitulation kills the will of the capitulator, and we are dealing with situation when one thing is replaced by another. That is, the will that manifests itself in internal life is used to compensate for lack of will in external relations," said the third President of Armenia.
To clarify whether there could be a new war, Sargsyan stated that a war is going on between the parties that will at least to some extent be able to fight at least for a certain period of time.
To clarify, that is, Armenia does not have the political will for this or the army does not have the capabilities, Sargsyan noted that it is difficult to say what level of resource the Armenian army has, since it does not have precise information about this. "But the fact that this will is not there, that our army is being forced to play the role of an even weaker one, is obvious. If you respond to the opponent's demand within a few hours, and ask for patience and promise to conduct an investigation to find the culprits because of some shot, then tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, when the Azerbaijanis begin to put pressure, our military will not even want to resist, since they can be punished for this resistance, etc.," Sargsyan concluded.
