ArmInfo. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting in Paris with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Stephane Sejourne. According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated his French counterpart on taking office.
The interlocutors discussed in detail a wide range of issues of mutual interest, touching on the prospects for close joint cooperation both in a bilateral format and on multilateral platforms.
Touching upon issues on the bilateral agenda, the parties noted with satisfaction the high-level political dialogue and emphasized their readiness to further strengthen multi-sectoral cooperation. The ministers of Armenia and France touched upon upcoming high-level events.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Stephane Sejourne also exchanged ideas on the Armenia-EU partnership agenda. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia emphasized the intensively deepening dialogue with the European Union, which is also developing in new directions aimed at ensuring tangible results for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
Issues related to the security situation in the South Caucasus were discussed in detail. Ararat Mirzoyan presented to his French counterpart the vision of the Republic of Armenia regarding the establishment of stability and peace in the region. The head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry emphasized the key principles in the process of regulating Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, in particular, the importance of territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, unconditional respect for sovereignty, as well as the need to provide greater certainty for the implementation of the further process of border delimitation based on the Alma- Ata Declaration and the latest and legitimate maps of the USSR.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia highly appreciated the special attention and efforts of France aimed at overcoming security challenges in the South Caucasus, as well as establishing a just and stable peace.
An exchange of views on issues related to regional transport and economic programs took place.
