ArmInfo.A new constitution of Armenia is necessary, first of all, for the current and future generations. Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the ruling "Civil Contract" faction, the famous businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan, told reporters on February 8.
According to him, the current government wants to inherit a safe country for the future generation, which is task number one. As for historical justice, as the MP mentioned, it should be based on current reality.
"You can't live in illusions, let alone dream that you are in space, but this is unacceptable. You need to do what you can do. Our task is to increase these capabilities every minute in order to be a more competitive, efficient and useful country," the MP noted.
He assured that with the adoption of the new constitution, the government does not seek to erase the entire history of the post-Soviet period of the republic. As for the Armenian Genocide, as the parliamentarian emphasized, no one is going to consign this historical fact to oblivion. "Although the Armenian Genocide is also partly the fault of the Armenians themselves, who were unable to organize themselves. But this crime is truly a shame for Turkey, there are only a few nations in the world that have been subjected to it, but this fact should be a lesson for us, instead of crying, let's finally start strengthening. We don't need anyone to admit anything, since in this case we are talking about political trade; we need to strengthen the state and its institutions so that no one even thinks about repeating the tragedy of 100 years ago.
If someone recognizes the Armenian Genocide, they do so solely for their own political reasons," the MP said.
