ArmInfo. Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting in The Hague with Mr Raymond de Roon, Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Parliament of the Netherlands, and Committee members representing most of the parliamentary parties.
Mirzoyan noted that RA is following the path of democratic reforms, as a result of which current achievements are reflected in relevant international indicators.
Regarding the security situation in the South Caucasus, the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry presented the vision of the country and the efforts being made in this direction to establish stability and peace in the region. Mirzoyan noted that Armenia's constructive approaches do not always find an adequate response, and in this vein, emphasizing the need for Azerbaijan to demonstrate appropriate political will and clear commitment. The head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry pointed out the key principles in the process of regulating Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, including the importance of unconditional respect for the territorial integrity and indivisibility of borders.
In the context of unblocking regional transport and economic channels, Mirzoyan noted that the four principles of sovereignty, jurisdiction, reciprocity and equality, which are important for Armenia, are best reflected in the "Crossroads of the World" program developed by the Armenian government, which was presented and attracted the attention of international partners.
The head of the foreign policy department also answered questions from Dutch parliamentarians regarding the development of the region, consideration of the rights and needs of Armenians forcibly displaced as a result of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh, strengthening the RA-EU partnership and issues of mutual interest.
At the meeting, the readiness to further deepen cooperation between Armenia and the Netherlands was emphasized, including at the level of parliamentarians, as well as in the RA-EU format in order to support stability in the region and ensure the well-being of the countries.
