According to him, Armenia has repeatedly stated its readiness to establish peace in the region. But the neighboring state, represented by Azerbaijan, does not show such readiness. "The international community must clearly respond to all attempts to fail the process of establishing long-term peace," Simonyan said.
The head of the Armenian parliament recalled that Azerbaijan has repeatedly refused meetings at various venues. And he got the impression that Baku was deliberately delaying the process of concluding a peace treaty. Simonyan noted that if there is political will, there are no serious reasons that could prevent the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The speaker added that he does not understand why the document has not yet been signed, although many provisions and principles have already been agreed upon, and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, previously made a corresponding statement.
At the same time, the NA Speaker assured that Yerevan will continue efforts to establish peace
