CIS Institute and Lazarev Club: Azerbaijani authorities are competing  with Nikol Pashinyan`s government in erasing historical memory and  Russian influence in Transcaucasia

ArmInfo. The decision of the Azerbaijani authorities to celebrate the anniversary of Mamed Emin Rasulzadeh is demonstrative in nature and indicates the policy of double standards that Baku is pursuing, distorting historical facts. 

This is stated in the joint statement of the Council of the International "Lazarev Club" and the Institute of CIS Countries (Moscow), published in connection with the order of the President of Azerbaijan on holding the 140th anniversary of "one of the founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, Chairman of the National  Council of Azerbaijan" Mamed Emin Rasulzadeh".

"Azerbaijani propagandists who harshly condemn and consider the hero  of the fight against the Armenian genocide during the First World  War, Garegin Nzhdeh, recognized in Armenia as an accomplice of the  fascists, praise Mamed Rasulzade, a staunch enemy of the Russian  Empire and the Soviet Union, who consistently collaborated with  Pilsudski, Hitler and the post-war pro-American "Liberation  Committee" enslaved peoples of the USSR" in Turkey, declare him , multiply and worship his monuments in  Azerbaijan and for the second time in 10 years celebrate his  anniversary at the state level," the statement says.

The source notes that this false attempt to glorify the creator of  the Azerbaijani Legion as part of the Nazi army looks extremely  alarming. The latter, according to the CIS Institute and the Lazarev  Club, unfortunately fits into the logic of the "feast of winners"  that the Azerbaijani authorities continue against the backdrop of the  general exodus of the Armenian population from the territory of  Nagorno-Karabakh.  "This is not the first time we declare that by  doing so, the Azerbaijani authorities continue to sow "dragon's  teeth" and compete with the government of Nikol Pashinyan in  displacing historical memory and Russian influence in the  Transcaucasus," the joint statement says.
