ArmInfo. On January 22, RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan received the Ambassador of Hungary to Armenia Anna Maria Shiko.
According to the press service of the department, during the meeting a number of issues were discussed regarding future areas of cooperation in the field of labor and social protection, in particular, the implementation of joint programs in the process of providing support to forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh. The possibility of joint work in the fields of children's rights, interests and social housing provision was also mentioned.
Presenting state support programs for forcibly displaced persons, Narek Mkrtchyan emphasized the importance of improving their living conditions and providing them with appropriate activities. In this context, the issue of involving the Hungarian side in a number of ongoing programs was considered. Anna Maria Shiko also emphasized the importance of cooperation with the ministry and noted that Budapest is ready to make the necessary efforts in the process of supporting forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno- Karabakh.nAt the suggestion of the ambassador, the possibility of organizing holidays for displaced children during the summer holidays in Hungary was discussed.
The minister welcomed the ambassador's proposal, and noted that a similar program has already been implemented with Slovenia and Cyprus, within the framework of which children from Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as border communities of Armenia, had the opportunity to visit these countries and take part in various educational and training events.
Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to transfer the discussed issues to the practical stage.
