ArmInfo.Washington supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both Armenia and Azerbaijan, U.S. Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller told a briefing.
"I'm not going to get into the exact substance of those - those meetings other than to say that we welcome the work towards peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries. We hope they will sign a durable peace treaty that recognizes such sovereignty and territorial integrity, the sooner the better. The parties have made significant progress over the past year, and we encourage them to maintain momentum building on past negotiations and conclude an agreement," he said.
Louis L Bono, Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations, U.S. Department of State, held talks in Yerevan. However, he did not travel to Baku, where, according to Azerbaijani media, he was not welcomed. The U.S. Embassy in Armenia neither confirmed nor refuted the reports.
