ArmInfo. Russia is expecting Armenian Premier Nikol Pashinyan's participation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) jubilee summit in Moscow, this May, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin stated.
"Let me remind you that this year the Republic of Armenia is presiding over the Eurasian Economic Council. This also involves an exchange of delegations and visits. The anniversary summit of the Eurasian Economic Union is planned to be held in Moscow in May and, of course, the Russian side expects the participation of the country's leader - the chairman, Prime Minister Pashinyan," the ambassador said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, mutual visits at high and senior levels are a common occurrence in the practice of interstate relations and this issue was, is and remains on the agenda.
"Let me remind you that quite recently, a month ago, a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which is headed by the vice-premiers of our countries, took place here in Yerevan. Quite a large number of high-ranking representatives of various departments of both Russia and Armenia took part in it. It was very "an important, landmark event in our bilateral relations. Of course, the decisions that were made, important decisions, will be implemented and will naturally require contacts and visits," Kopyrkin noted.
He added that there are a number of invitations to Armenian colleagues from the Russian side to participate in planned significant events in 2024. "I will not list everything now, we are working on this issue. Of course, this kind of exchanges, including visits at a high, top level, are on the agenda," the Russian diplomat concluded.
