ArmInfo. The FlyOne Armenia airline issued a clarification regarding the publications of a number of Armenian media sources that passengers must pay a registration fee of 40 euros to Fly One before departure.
The national budget airline FlyOne Armenia recalled that free online check-in for all airline flights is available to all passengers of the company 24 hours before departure, registration for which is available on the website of the Fly One group of companies, and its absence from the specified section of the company group website is an unfortunate technical omission that has already been fixed.
It is noted that free online check-in has only one goal - to keep the price of air tickets as affordable as possible, delegating some actions directly to the passenger. This availability of tickets in 2023 has provided more than 900 thousand passengers with the opportunity to benefit from travel services tailored to everyone's needs. At present, the absolute majority of the airline's passengers board the flight after free online check-in. There is also free check-in at the airport for passengers traveling on certain types of air tickets.
The representatives of the airline remind that FlyOne Armenia is a low-cost budget airline, and for the vast majority of budget airlines in the world, flight check-in is a paid service at the airport, this also applies to the main low-cost carriers operating in the Republic of Armenia.
"All airline passengers receive numerous notifications several times, particularly 24 hours before departure, about the possibility of free and online check-in, either by their email or by any means available to the airline. FlyOne Armenia will continue to work to inform the public and encourage online registration.
We consider it appropriate to mention that the airline has repeatedly informed the public about free online check-in through media, social platforms and all available tools. The airline has never avoided contact with the media, and there is no obstacle for our press partners to get additional information from us on this issue," the statement reads.
At the same time, the airline considers it unacceptable to link a well-known politician (the publication spoke of the company's affiliation with a MP from the ruling faction, ed. note) with the activities of the airline.
It is noted that the repetition of such behavior gives a reason to conclude that these publications come from specific centers whose purpose is to give political content and background to the possible shortcomings during the operation of each airline.
"We ask our media partners to refrain from the practice of linking issues related to one or another area of the company's work with policies that have absolutely nothing to do with the company's activities. FlyOne Armenia has never avoided criticism, publicity and healthy discussions. The Company will not tolerate such blatant speculation that creates an unhealthy and distorted public perception of the airline's operations.
We also inform you that in the near future we will publicly summarize the results of the company's activities in 2023," it is said in the clarification.
Founded in 2021, FLYONE ARMENIA (www.flyone.am) is the leading air carrier in Armenia. The airline's fleet consists of Airbus A320 and Airbus A319 aircraft. They comply with all safety standards of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and EASA.
