ArmInfo. Armenia joins the agreement on mutual recognition of academic degrees of citizens of member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Armenia's Parliament ratified the relevant agreement at a plenary session on January 16.
According to Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Artur Martirosyan, the document was signed on June 8, 2023 in Sochi. On behalf of the republic, it was signed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. The purpose of the agreement is to eliminate existing exceptions and restrictions in the field of labor migration, to provide favorable conditions for the implementation of labor activities of citizens of the EAEU member states by recognizing the conformity of documents on academic degrees. Ratification of the document will allow, on the principles of reciprocity, the recognition of documents related to academic degrees in order to ensure access to professional activities.
As of July 24, 2023, the agreement has not entered into force, since only the Russian Federation has completed the domestic procedures necessary for the entry into force of the Agreement.
