According to the ranking, Azerbaijan was in 59th place, having dropped two positions over the year, and Georgia was in 84th place, a position higher than the previous year. The TOP-25 also includes such influential military powers as India, South Korea, Great Britain, Japan, Turkey, Pakistan, Italy, France, Brazil, Indonesia, Iran, Egypt, Australia, Israel, Ukraine, Germany, Spain, Poland, Vietnam , Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and Thailand.
The Military Strength Ranking study combines more than 50 different indicators. In addition to the size of the army, the number of tanks, ships, aircraft and other military equipment, it also takes into account the level of funding for the military sector, the country's transport infrastructure, access to petroleum products and other factors that may affect the combat effectiveness of the army. However, the index does not take into account the presence of nuclear weapons. The research has been ongoing for 19 years.
