ArmInfo. The Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem, not satisfied with the consequences of the wars against Artsakh and Armenia, continues to put pressure on Yerevan. The head of the Hayastan opposition faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan told reporters on January 15.
According to him, this pressure will increase against the backdrop of the false peace agenda proposed by Yerevan. Moreover, the politician believes, the Armenian authorities have a poor understanding of this agenda, which is a trap for the country. "The forces that lose wars and maintain power are always under pressure, and the peace agenda put forward is one-sided," the former minister said, pointing in particular to Azerbaijan's new demands. "The greatest danger is posed by issues related to the so-called corridor and the strengthening of the Azerbaijani army. The road through Syunik will not give us anything economically; there will only be bilateral pressure on Syunik, on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of which the demographic situation will change. Our pseudo neighbors will come and settle in Syunik, economic and political pressure will arise. We saw a clear example of this in the Soviet Union when they increased their population," Ohanyan said.
