ArmInfo. Armenia appreciates the role that Japan plays both in the world and in the South Caucasus region. President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan stated during a meeting with new Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Yutaka Aoki, while accepting the credentials of the Japanese diplomat.
The President expressed confidence that the friendship between Armenia and Japan will deepen thanks to the personal efforts of the new ambassador.
"Diplomatic relations between our countries from the moment they were established became special, they were sincere, truly friendly, we had effective interaction in all directions: political, economic and cultural. All the programs that were implemented in Armenia with the support of the Japanese government were important for the development of the Armenian economy, and I am sure that they will be continued. We also appreciate the role that Japan plays both in the world and in our region," Khachaturian noted.
In turn, the newly appointed ambassador pointed out the similarity of common values. "Even before arriving in Armenia and already here, I noticed how many people want relations between our countries to develop further. Everyone says that we have a lot in common and many common values. I will make every effort to strengthen friendship and cooperation between our countries," the diplomat emphasized. During the meeting, issues related to the prospects and directions for the development of multifaceted cooperation between Armenia and Japan were discussed. The presence of great potential for cooperation in the field of high technologies and information technology and the importance of intensifying steps for its full implementation were emphasized.
During the conversation, opportunities for promoting political dialogue between the two countries were touched upon, and in this context, the need for high-level political mutual visits, as well as the need for constant promotion of parliamentary diplomacy, was emphasized.
Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that mutual political visits at various levels, as well as active diplomatic, cultural contacts and industry cooperation contribute to strengthening existing cooperation between the countries.
