ArmInfo. EUMA (EU civilian mission to Armenia) monitors conducted a security situation awareness patrol today in Khachik village (Vayots Dzor region of Armenia) on the Armenian side of the border with Azerbaijan , the mission reports on its X page.
"The patrols aim to assess security developments on the ground," the message reads.
On January 23 this year, the EU Council has approved the new civilian mission of the European Union in Armenia (EUMA) within the framework of the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP). The Mission's goal is to promote stability in Armenia's border areas, build trust on the ground and provide conditions conducive to EU-supported efforts to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the EU statement reads.
