ArmInfo. Armenian Premier Nikol Pashinyan's "geopolitical splits" will obviously not produce any good results, former Armenian MP Naira Zohrabyan told reporters as she commented on the Armenian premier's recent visit to Russia.
According to Zohrabyan, this visit should not be considered that for Nikol Pashinyan, from now on, the western platform is completely failed. "He will try to manipulate the situation for as long as possible, using the "domino effect" in order to sit on two chairs," Zohrabyan said, adding that such attempts lead to "geopolitical splits." She noted that the messages of the current head of government from St. Petersburg to the West that the EAEU is not a political, but a purely economic structure, are simply ridiculous, since the economy is a direct consequence of the policies being implemented.
Zohrabyan noted that if Pashinyan really decides to refuse the services of the West, the country will very quickly feel the consequences of economic and political sanctions. "In this case, it will suddenly become clear that the trials carried out in Armenia against persons disliked by the authorities are nothing more than political persecution. The West will begin to pay much more attention to the trial against the ex-Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, who later "I intend to demand that it be recorded as a classic element of a political farce. The same applies to Narek Malyan, Mamikon Aslanyan and many others, in whose cases there are no victims, which in itself is nonsense," the MP said.
She noted that as a result of political juggling on the part of Pashinyan, the country found itself in an extremely difficult situation. "If the sensible political elite and the public fail to unite, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia will continue his mission that is disastrous for the country, he, as before, will surrender territories and submit the Republic of Armenia to an international tender," said the ex-deputy, recalling the decision of the Milli Majlis Azerbaijan, which recognized a significant part of the territory of Armenia as its territory. "At the first stage, under the guise of refugees, they will send 140 thousand murderers, repeat offenders and drug addicts to our country, after which the seizure of the entire country will begin," Zohrabyan said.
