ArmInfo. On December 27, RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan and RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan met with forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh who settled in the Chambarak community. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia.
The source notes that the meeting was also attended by Governor of Gegharkunik region Karen Sargsyan, mayor of the Chambarak community Vazgen Adamyan, and community leaders.
The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the forcibly displaced persons and their desire to stay and live in the Chambarak community. Khachatryan presented the support programs previously launched by the RA government and asked whether those who decided to settle in Chambarak were left out of these programs.
Having presented the government's long-term support programs for the near future, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the issue of providing housing will be a priority in these programs. "In the near future we will formulate a final approach to the housing program. I think that by the end of February we will let you know how this should happen. It is very important that most families have already found a place for temporary residence. We hope that the conditions that will be offered in state support programs in the near future, will contain significantly greater opportunities for you, both in terms of conducting agricultural activities in the area adjacent to housing, and in terms of other conditions. One thing is clear: every family in Armenia should have the opportunity to have their own home," Tigran Khachatryan said.
In the second part of the meeting, a question and answer session was held, during which forcibly displaced persons addressed the officials with questions that concerned them, which mainly related to technical problems related to the use of support programs, inaccuracies in documents, as well as receiving pensions and benefits.
Summing up the meeting, RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan emphasized that the purpose of the meeting was to try to get proposals from those present regarding the government's upcoming steps. "We are ready to do everything to create sufficient conditions for you to stay and live in Armenia. We want our discussions to reach such a decision that will really give results, and after these difficult challenges you will be able to continue your life, lifestyle or work in the directions that you like, in more comfortable conditions," the minister concluded.
