ArmInfo. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian is to arrive in Armenia for a working visit on December 27, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
It said the Armenian Foreign Ministry will host a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Iran, which will be followed by a joint press conference of Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
Before arriving in Yerevan, the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry had a telephone conversation with his colleagues from Azerbaijan and Russia, Jeyhun Bayramov and Sergey Lavrov.
The foreign ministers of Iran and Azerbaijan discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation, the current situation in the region and prospects for normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
In a conversation with Lavrov, a mutual desire was expressed to further build up bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including relying on the Free Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Iran signed on December 25 in St. Petersburg.
To develop contacts at various levels, current issues on the bilateral, regional and international agenda of mutual interest were discussed. Last week the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry called his colleagues from Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan and also Turkey.
