ArmInfo. The materials of the criminal case against the son of the former governor of Syunik Surik Khachatryan, Tigran Khachatryan, have been sent to the supervising prosecutor for approval of the indictment and sending it to court, the Investigative Committee of Armenia reports.
According to the case materials, on June 19 at about 8:30p.m. T. Khachatryan, together with his close friends, went to a car service center in his Mercedes car to resolve a dispute that arose during a telephone conversation regarding the purchase of tires for the car. Trying to emphasize his superiority in relation to the 46-year-old tire salesman, he made sexual insults towards the service workers, which provoked the latter into a conflict. Then, disregarding the rules of cohabitation and disturbing the peace of citizens, he shot a 46-year-old man with an illegal firearm, causing the latter to be injured. T.H. himself fled the scene, leaving Goris.
As a result of operational search, Tigran Khachatryan was found on November 8 of this year in his private house in Yerevan, based on a court order.
In early November, he was arrested and his charges were supplemented - in addition to hooliganism with the use of a weapon in the city of Goris and causing minor bodily injury to a person for hooligan reasons (Part 2 of Article 171 - causing minor harm to health), he was charged with a new charge under Part 1 Article 335 (illegal carrying of weapons), Part 3 of Article 297 (hooliganism committed with the help of a weapon or an object prepared in advance for this purpose, used as a weapon), Clauses 6, 8 and 12 of Part 2 of Article 167 (causing harm to health moderate severity).
It is noteworthy that, according to the Investigative Committee, the victim in the case, a 46-year-old resident of the city of Goris, illegally refused to testify regarding the circumstances known to him in the cases of medium and serious crimes committed by T. Khachatryan. As part of a separate proceeding initiated in connection with this fact, a decision was made to initiate public criminal prosecution against a 46-year-old citizen under paragraph 2 of part 2 of Article 503 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and he was charged. The investigation into this matter continues.
In 2013, Tigran Khachatryan was involved in the murder of Avetik Budaghyan, which took place near the former governor's house. In this case, the court acquitted Tigran Khachatryan, considering his actions self- defense.
