ArmInfo. At the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussions on the development of a draft demographic strategy for Armenia continued.
According to the Prime Minister's press service, the work done as a result of the previous discussion, the goals of the strategy and the plans and measures resulting from it were presented. Next, the consultation participants exchanged ideas about the project, presented their observations about the goals of the strategy and expected measures.
"This is our fundamental strategy because ultimately our goal is to make people feel comfortable living in Armenia. In fact, all our strategies and policies are largely aimed at this," the head of government noted, emphasizing the need for integration and synchronization of strategies and road maps. The Prime Minister also emphasized the need for continuous review of strategies, which will contribute to their full implementation and increased effectiveness.
Nikol Pashinyan instructed to make appropriate amendments to the draft based on the comments made and discussions of stakeholders on the draft strategy.
Earlier, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said that in order to overcome demographic problems, the country needs to take effective measures to stimulate the birth rate. He instructed to include in the demographic development strategy measures that will allow the population of Armenia to increase to 5 million people by 2050.
