ArmInfo. Yerevan must have certain political tools so that the treaty obligations assumed by other states regarding Armenia are fulfilled. Armen Khachatryan, MP from the ruling "Civil Contract" faction, stated in a conversation with journalists on December 20, speaking about Armenian-Russian relations.
The MP expressed confidence that the parties will take steps to increase the level of Armenian-Russian relations. Yerevan and Moscow, according to him, are connected to each other by manyties. At the same time, the parliamentarian avoided answering the question of whether he supported the accusations of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan against the Russian side, which were voiced in an interview with the Public Television of Armenia. The MP only noted that strange steps were taken by the Russian side before Azerbaijan's military operations. "Russia, having a number of security obligations to Armenia, was unable to fulfill them," Khachatryan said.
In turn, opposition MP from the Armenia faction Gegham Manukyan called on the country's authorities to have a direct dialogue about existing problems. "There are many questions for the military-political leadership of Russia, but they are resolved through dialogue using various platforms, including the CSTO platforms," said the oppositionist, adding that he, as a parliamentarian, would take part in the meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, however, the leadership of the National Assembly decided not to take part in it. "On such platforms, issues are resolved through dialogue, presentation of facts, rather than by harboring a grudge for months like a child, generating internal moods," Manukyan said, pointing out that it is necessary to settle the bad relations with the Russian Federation, rather than to aggravate the situation.
