ArmInfo.Yerevan expects that the servicemen will return from Azerbaijani captivity in the very near future. Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan told reporters on December 12.
According to him, there is currently no information on changes in the agreement reached. As the Speaker emphasized, the process is at the stage of implementation. "I hope that everything will go smoothly," Simonyan emphasized.
On December 7, the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued a joint statement in which they noted the parties' intentions to exchange 32 Armenian soldiers for 2 Azerbaijani military personnel. "Driven by the values of humanism and as a gesture of goodwill, the Republic of Azerbaijan releases 32 Armenian military servicemen. In its turn, driven by the values of humanism and as a gesture of goodwill, the Republic of Armenia releases 2 Azerbaijani military servicemen." the statement reads.
