Armenian film director Suren Babayan dies aged 73

ArmInfo. Armenian actor and film director Suren Babayan has died aged 73. 

"We announce with deep regret the death of one of the most liberal  art critics of independent Armenia, film director Suren Babayan. Our  hearts go out to the master's relatives and to the movie industry,"  the Golden Apricot Festival wrote on its Facebook account. 

Suren Babayan was born in Yerevan on September 18, 1950. He graduated  from the "Directing Department of Yerevan Fine Arts and Theatre  Institute" in 1972 and from "Advanced Directing Courses" in Moscow in  1980. From 1977 to 2013,Suren Babayan worked as actor and director. 

He directed such films as The Eighth Day of Creation (short),    Cry  of a Peacock, The Thirteenth Apostle, "P.S.," noai., Gyumri-review,  doc., The Bride from Jermouk, Zhano,  Don't Look in the Mirror, The  Thorn and others.
