ArmInfo.On November 30, the Government of Armenia approved the proposal to sign an agreement "On the formation of the Coordination Council of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of forensic activities."
As stated in the explanation to the document, the conclusion of the Agreement (signed on October 13, 2023 at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS in Bishkek) involves the establishment of multifaceted and regular interaction in the field of forensic activities. the field of forensic medical examination, aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the fight against crime, as well as ensuring the interests of citizens in this area.
The signing of the agreement provides for the creation of an interstate council of heads of forensic examination bodies of the CIS member states (hereinafter referred to as the Council). The Council is an industry cooperation body of the CIS, which, within its powers, will be called upon to ensure the organization and coordination of interaction between forensic examination bodies of the CIS member states, as well as professional cooperation in the field of forensic examination with international organizations. The Agreement provides that each Party designates a competent government agency responsible for implementing the provisions of the Agreement and coordinating cooperation between national forensic authorities.
At the moment, the Agreement has been signed by the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Moldova, Turkmenistan and Ukraine have not signed the agreement.
