ArmInfo.Armenian exporters once again faced a problem related to the situation at the Upper Lars checkpoint and the supply of products to the Russian market. MP from the <Armenia> opposition faction Artur Khachatryan told reporters on November 27.
According to him, the RA government living at the expense of business entities should solve their problems, and not look for those responsible. "I note with regret that the country's government has not made any progress in this direction," the parliamentarian noted, linking the current situation with problems in Armenian-Russian relations. According to the MP, the steps taken by the regulatory bodies of the Russian Federation in relation to Armenian products, be it Rospotrebnadzor or Rosalkogoltabakcontrol, are not accidental. "It is obvious that we are talking about the use of political tools to put pressure on Armenia," Khachatryan said.
He responded with irony to the statements of the country's authorities that the decision to withdraw from the CSTO will be made by observing public opinion. "In Soviet times, when prices for goods were raised, it was stated that this was being done based on the demands of the workers. Something similar is happening in the case of the CSTO, but I don't know how they asses this requirement," the MP said, adding that no matter how RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declares that there are very good relations with Russia, it is obvious that there is tension between the two states, which also affects public sentiments.
