ArmInfo. On November 20, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received United Kingdom Minister for Europe Leo Docherty.
According to the press service of the RA government, the Prime Minister noted that relations between Armenia and UK are active and emphasized the importance of the recently held first meeting of the RA-UK strategic dialogue. Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that Armenian-UK cooperation has great potential, and mutual visits at a high level will contribute to its full implementation.
Leo Docherty emphasized the importance of the recent official visit of RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to the UK, which gave new impetus to the expansion and deepening of bilateral ties. The Minister emphasized the UK's interest in deepening cooperation with Armenia.
During the meeting, issues related to the process of regulating Armenian-Azerbaijani relations were raised. The importance of continuing the peace process based on the principles agreed upon at the trilateral meetings held in Brussels on May 14 and July 15, 2023 was emphasized.
The interlocutors also discussed the humanitarian problems of more than 100 thousand forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the policy of ethnic cleansing committed by Azerbaijan. The meeting also presented the steps taken by the Armenian government to overcome them. In this regard, the humanitarian support of the international community to the population of Nagorno-Karabakh was emphasized.
