ArmInfo. Baku does not consider it possible to hold a meeting at the level of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia on November 20, 2023 in Washington. This is stated in the Foreign
Ministry's commentary on the statements of U.S. Assistant Secretary of State James O'Brien at a hearing in the subcommittee on Europe of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that allegedly "such a unilateral approach by the United States could lead to the US losing its role as a mediator."
" Under these circumstances, it is important to note that we do not consider possible to hold the proposed meeting on the level of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, in Washington on November 20, 2023," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statemnent.
Baku also called the statements of the State Department representative "unfounded, inappropriate and biased."
Earlier, the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia announced that an upcoming meeting between Armenia and Azerbaijan at the level of Foreign Ministers is planned in Washington.
