ArmInfo.Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the 10th anniversary summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Astana.
According to the press service of the Turkish leader, Turkish-Azerbaijani ties, regional and global issues, as well as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict were discussed during the meeting.
The interlocutors touched upon the current situation in the process of normalizing relations between Turkey and Armenia and the "post-conflict process between Azerbaijan and Armenia."
In the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Erdogan said Turkey's humanitarian assistance efforts will continue to be intensified. In addition, Erdogan noted that the international community must send clear messages to ensure Israel's compliance with international law.
"Permanent peace in the region can only be possible with the establishment of a geographically integrated and independent State of Palestine within the 1967 borders with its capital in East Jerusalem," Erdogan said.
