ArmInfo. In 2024, work will continue to clean up the areas adjacent to Lake Sevan. RA Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan stated on November 2 during parliamentary discussions on the draft state budget of Armenia.
According to him, about 203 hectares of territory will have to be cleared next year. The customer of this program will be the Sevan National Park, and the contractor will be identified based on the results of a tender, which is planned to be announced in the near future. In total, 98 million drams will be allocated from the state budget for the implementation of the project. If the Park does not meet the project implementation deadlines, a new tender will be announced. The minister emphasized that tenders are held in accordance with lots approved by the department. This year alone, competitions worth about 200 million drams were organized, but due to the lack of participants, the work was not completed. In general, the minister continued, by 2026 it is necessary to clean up an area of 800 hectares.
Work will also be carried out to increase the whitefish population, for which the state budget provides an amount of 15 million drams.
