ArmInfo. Some issues on the Armenian-Azerbaijani agenda have remained unsettled because not all of Baku's ambitions have been satisfied, and not everything has been accomplished in the region, Russian MP Konstantin Zatulin stated.
"The current government of Armenia and the government of Azerbaijan actually agree on one thing - they are pushing Russia out of the region as a result of all the events related to Nagorno-Karabakh, the results of the Karabakh war, and so on. Pashinyan in this case is reformatting the consciousness of the Armenian people to search for allies in the West and the generation of hatred towards Russia," he said, accusing a number of Armenian pro-government Telegram channels of sowing hatred towards Russia with all his might.
Referring to the meeting of the prime ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Tbilisi, the deputy stated that this is only one of the meetings.
"The question is whether this will be completed in the form of an agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. There are different forecasts: that it will be concluded before the end of the year, that it will not be concluded before the end of the year. I, for example, like others, drew attention to a statement by Turkish sources who say that Turkey is setting out its conditions for normalization with Armenia, among which are the Zangezur corridor between Azerbaijan and Turkey through the territory of Armenia; the refusal of any geographical name of Artsakh, that is, Nagorno-Karabakh and, finally, the policy of condemning the Armenian genocide. "As for the first two questions, here, I think, Pashinyan would be ready to agree. As for the third, I will see how he could refuse this, if this is indeed a condition for signing a peace treaty," the Russian MP emphasized.
At the same time, he believes that this will affect his political career, due to the fact that he will no longer be able to explain this.
"As for Nagorno-Karabakh, he is already explaining to everyone in Armenia - Karabakh was surrendered by the Russians, Russia is to blame for everything, we have nothing to do with it. He abdicates all responsibility. He, in fact, threw Karabakh into the war, he refused to mobilize Armenia to fight. He himself said last year that this is an internal matter, Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan. But it turns out that Russia is to blame for everything," Zatulin said.
