ArmInfo.On October 30, Head of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Armenia Karen Andreasyan received head of the EU delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos.
As the SJC reports, during the meeting, the head of the Supreme Judicial Council presented to the Ambassador of the European Union the large-scale reforms and achievements recorded in the country's judicial system over the past year, the positive effects of which the citizens of Armenia will feel from the first months of 2024
Karen Andreasyan considered it important that cooperation with the European Union is a priority for the Supreme Judicial Council, one of the positive results of which is the digitalization of civil proceedings, which is at the final stage, which will be in the interests of the citizen, society and the state, since as a result of the changes the workload on judges will decrease.
The EU Ambassador, in turn, considered ensuring the independence of the judiciary as a key factor and expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation. He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the SJC and the Consultative Council of European Judges (CCJE)
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on further deepening existing cooperation, sharing experience, and developing concepts aimed at improving the condition of court buildings.
