ArmInfo. A new video surveillance system will be introduced in Armenia. On October 30, at a parliamentary committee hearing on the 2024 budget, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahe Ghazaryan stated.
According to him, the project recently became the subject of discussions held by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan. The minister emphasized that the introduction of the new system will not only contribute to reducing the number of crimes, but will also significantly reduce the number of traffic accidents. The previous speed surveillance cameras were installed in 2013 and are already noticeably outdated, they are morally and physically worn out, and in practice it is very difficult to connect them with software. Work to replace the old system with a new one that meets the most modern requirements will begin in the very near future, the minister assured, adding that when developing the program for introducing new systems, the experience of Singapore, South Korea, and Kazakhstan was taken into account.
